My Experience: Private coaching has been the backbone of my business. It’s deeply fulfilling working with my clients and financially rewarding, but it requires strong boundaries and energetic balance. For example, I only work 4 days a week and take 2 clients a day so I can maintain my work-life balance. But that means it's not scalable indefinitely and my income will be eventually capped. If you love working 1:1, this is a fantastic way to build revenue quickly while making a real impact, but I wish I started with this next income stream sooner...

My Experience: Whether it’s a membership program or a subscription-based offer, recurring revenue is a game-changer for stability. I love knowing that there’s steady money coming in each month, but it does require some time commitment to keep members engaged. Overall though, I've LOVED running the Business Besties community text and this is my new favorite stream of income!
4. Affiliate Marketing (the EASIEST Income Stream to Start)
Income: $3,000+/year
Pros:
Already sharing products you love
No need to create your own products
Easy and quick to start
Cons:
Brands might not align with your values
Low commission (5-50%)
Depends on audience size and engagement
Can lose trust with community with too many products shared
My Experience: I naturally share my favorite books, gardening tools, and home products, so affiliate marketing felt like a no-brainer. It's easy enough to add an amazon link to your story or post so why not get 5-10% of the sale?! Or if a course creator you love offers affiliate commission, it can be very lucrative to share their links during their launches. I've made over $3,000 sharing other peoples courses over the years (like these) and love being able to share others work with my community!
5. Social Media Monetization (TikTok, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube)
Income: $0-$8,000/year
Pros:
Get paid for content you’re already creating
Multiple income opportunities (ads, sponsorships, tips, subscriptions)
Cons:
Takes time to build an audience
Low payout
Can be unpredictable (hacked, banned, based on algorithm)
My Experience: Once you hit monetization thresholds, you social platforms can bring in additional income through ad revenue, brand partnerships, and even subscriber-based features. But it's super unreliable and tends to be lower payout unless you have a big audience, still it’s an excellent additional income source if you qualify.

Too many collabs + lose trust with audience
My Experience: Partnering with brands and creating user-generated content (UGC) has been a fun and lucrative way to diversify my income as well as get products I use for free! If you love content creation but don’t want to build a massive audience, UGC is a great alternative. But the payouts can be low and there is some negotiation involved with companies. Plus too many sponsored links may hurt your relationship with your audience so be selective with what and how often you take on collabs.

It took time to get here, and I won’t pretend that every stream of income was an overnight success.
