6 Cozy Business Hacks to Grow Your Small Business without Burnout

Cozy Business Hack #1: Start and End the Day with YOU

Before we can dive into the practical tips to scale your small business, let's help YOU - the founder, the visionary, the face behind the brand, the person behind the product - feel cozy af every single day!

This can be as simple as carving out 5 minutes every morning and evening for yourself! Aka my number one tip to start practicing slow living "Start and End the Day with YOU!"

For example, you could start your day sipping your coffee in the sunshine and taking some deep, slow breaths while listening to the birds chirp. Or maybe do a meditation or EFT Tapping (my personal favorite) to shift your mindset. Even just taking your dog for a walk every morning can help relieve stress. Need some more ideas? What about ending the day with you?

You could cuddle up with a good book 📚, listen to a podcast while you soak in the tub, or indulge in a cozy hobby like coloring or crocheting 🧶 (aka my latest obsession!) This also helps your brain relax into alpha waves aka the creativity zone where your next brilliant business idea can flow to you. It's literally a win-win for you and your business to make yourself a priority so you feel like a person outside of your work.

Cozy Business Hack #2: Evergreen Social Media Marketing

Raise your hand if you feel personally victimized by the Instagram algorithm 🙋🏼‍♀️ My clients all say it is one of their biggest time sucks and also stressful tasks in their business constantly creating content to stay relevant in the 24 hour algorithm cycle. Instead, what if you could create ONE post that drives traffic and sales to your website and offers for YEARS to come just by reposting your content to other platforms?

That is the perk of evergreen social media marketing aka using sites that utilize SEO (search engine optimization) such as Pinterest and YouTube! I have videos and pins from years ago that still bring +100 people to my website every single month. The best part though? You don't have to rework your entire social media strategy! Just repurpose and repost what you already have.

🎥 For example, your Instagram reels can be reposted to YouTube Shorts & Tiktok.

✍🏻 Your captions can be copy & pasted to Threads or X (formerly twitter).

📌 Your graphics & carousels can be shared to Facebook or Pinterest.

💻 And you can take the entire post and expand upon it to create longer form content like I am doing with this blog (that also is SEO friendly)

This way you are showing up on multiple platforms, reaching more of your community, and driving more traffic to your website for just a smidge of extra effort! The only thing to keep in mind though - you HAVE to use SEO rich keywords for this content to perform well long term. Tools like Semrush or Google Keyword Planner can help you find words and phrases your ideal client is already searching for to help get your videos and pins in front of them!

Cozy Business Hack #3: Nurture Your Community (in new ways)

Just because we are focusing on ever green content to grow your business, doesn't mean you should abandon the communities you have online. Actually the opposite! But find new ways to connect and nurture them outside of the social media algorithms.

There is no marketing strategy cozier than focusing on client retention and creating a deeper, more close knit community! 🥰 Studies show that customers are 60% more likely to buy from the same small business again vs going with a competitor even if their first purchase was only $1. It just makes sense to focus on the people already obsessed with your work than to keep trying to bring new customers 24/7.

But how do you nurture your current clients? By creating exclusive spaces (free or paid) for them to connect and chat with you more such as Patreon, Substack, paid community inside of Instagram subscribers, or a free one using broadcast channels. The best community I've ever built though has to be over on Telegram inside of my Business Besties group chat! Every single day we are supporting, celebrating, and giving each other feedback on our products and posts. Plus they receive first dibs and special discounts on ALL my offers and sessions :)

The most underrated way though is email marketing! 💌 Instead of relying on a platform outside of your control, your content is landing straight in their inboxes. Honestly, it feels like I am writing a little love letter to my community every Sunday when I send out their weekly ✨ Magical Mail✨ filled with affirmations, journal prompts, business hacks, spiritual rituals, and all the things I love to talk about.

Cozy Business Hack #4: Automation

Speaking of email, have you dove into automating your business yet? This is the simplest way for you to save time every single week and as we already discussed market & grow your business the cozy way! But I am not talking about using ChatGPT 🤖 for every little task....

Instead finding systems to help schedule client calls, send sales receipts, sign contracts, pay your bills, etc. For example, all of the products sold on my website automatically trigger a sales receipt and welcome email so even if my phone is on DND my clients receive whatever they purchased even at 3am in the morning. Anything that doesn't require you creative brainpower should be removed for your to-do list and technology can help!

But as I said, don't turn this tip of automating every day tasks into a robot running your business every day. People want to hear and work with YOU. We crave human connection now more than ever. So don't outsource your magic to AI. Instead find ways for it to lessen your to-do list so you can show up more fully in your zone of genius!

Lastly, let's make even your Monday a vibe by adding some whimsy to your work! Light a candle 🕯 at your desk, play relaxing music 🎶 while you work, wear your favorite outfit 👗 (even if no one else will see it), make yourself a cute little drink ☕️, etc. Life is short and I think you should romanticize every single day of it! Not only will this help you feel more at ease and enjoy whatever is on your to-do list but also help GROW your business.

I truly believe the energy in which you create your products or services is what your customers will experience using it. So if you are stressed or frustrated, that is the vibe they are going to pick up on - which I am sure isn't your intention. Instead, if you are relaxed, in the flow, and excited about your latest creation, they will be too! By simply adding a bit more coziness and magic to your work day you can shift your energy which will improve your customers experience as well (and help prevent you from burning out again!)
